Fabric of the gods... Happy New Year!

I recently went on a shopping adventure to Atlanta with Brandon and her sister Leah. It was one of those girl trips where you don't particularly need anything except to get out of town for the weekend. We had a blast just walking through stores and eating amazing food! I was very good and didn't buy anything too outrageous...and then we went to Bloomingdales the last day just before getting in the car to head home...and there is was!! A gorgeous Diane Von Furstenburg Dress made of silk chiffon! Chiffon!! It's like the fabric of the gods. I am pretty sure Aphrodite spun it herself. I love the way it moves, the way it looks, and the way if feels on my skin! And what could be better than Chiffon? A Chiffon dress designed by Diane!! It's the sort of dress that makes you feel like a little girl who wants to twirl and see her dress spin around her. I had to have it. I didn't care if I had a place to wear it or not, I just knew that it belonged in my wardrobe. So this new years eve I am wearing Chiffon. I am going to feel like the clouds are swirling beneath my feet on Mount Olympus! And I am going to twirl!!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

This was actually my 30th Birthday outfit, but it looked so comfy and festive I have decided it is the perfect Holiday ensemble. I got the shirt and lacey shorts at Madewell in Atlanta on a recent excursion with my sis and Kate. The shorts are so versatile I just loved them. They also come in a lovely blush color. And this silk top, yes silk... is such a beautiful blue. And goes with just about anything. And C'mon.... who doesn't need a pair of sky high mary jane platforms under their tree!??

Leather makes everything better...

Style Lesson number one, a leather jacket makes everything look better. From an evening gown to a pair of jeans to sweatpants at the grocery store. Case in point, this dress. I love the color, love the blue under layer of chiffon. Love even more how comfortable it is with this awesome All Saints Leather Jacket. I discovered All Saints a few years ago when I saw a photo of Drew Barrymore wearing this fantastic leather jacket, I had to know where it came from. All Saints was the answer. They are a company out of the UK who then opened a store in New York with many subsequent shopping destinations to follow, including Bloomingdales (I just found out on a recent trip to Atlanta). If you are looking for a great leather coat that will always be in style, look no further than All Saints!! (No, i am not a paid spokesperson ;)

Baby it's cold outside...

There may not be snow on the ground yet but I am ready for it! My mother gave me this Vintage coat a few years ago and I always seem to wait for a "dressy occasion" to wear it, but not this year! This year I am wearing it with jeans, dresses, and maybe even sweat pants! My mom bought this coat in 1970 and it's still in perfect condition. I have a feeling she was waiting for that special occasion too. This year the elegance of the 1950's is back in style... and while this coat is from 1970, I still think it has the same flare of sophistication. Lets dress up ladies. Ok,we may not be wearing white gloves to dinner any time soon, but lets keep the glamour alive!

Charlie Brown

This sweater reminds me of Charlie Brown. Which is fantastic because the Holiday Season is upon us, as are all of those TV specials we all love so much! EVERYONE needs the perfect fuzzy sweater to curl up in and a pair of awesome black pants. These two are mine.

It's only rock n roll....

This dress is so short it's really a tunic. Though I have worn it as a dress and pulled it down all night. It's so 70's, I love the chiffon and the ruffles. Looks like something from an old country album cover.

Sometimes you just need studs....

This jacket I can't even take credit for buying. When my sister and I were making our record we had the joy of working with stylist to the stars, Claudia Fowler. She got me this fantastic Veda Jacket with the great studs on it. It goes with everything. It is not warm. But it is totally fabulous.

Missoni for Brandon

I bought this sweater at Target. It is part of the sold out "Missoni" for Target collection. I tried to find other things I thought I would actually wear but this sweater was one of my only purchases that morning. It's so soft and comfortable. Easy to layer and I plan on it keeping me warm for many many cold days ahead.
